The gopchang Koreatown grew up on

The house specialty

Offal, done properly

Most Korean BBQ rooms in K-town treat intestines as a side order. At Yangmani it is the reason the room is full. Cleaned in house, cut thick, and worked over the fire until the outside crisps and the inside stays soft.

Your grill, our tongs

Copper mesh over live fire, and staff working the tongs so nothing catches while you eat. One reviewer put it plainly: the staff grilled the meat perfectly, quick and delicious.

Banchan

Eleven bowls before the meat arrives

Above all, the banchan are genuinely outstanding.

Since 2007

Eighteen years in Koreatown, one move

Yangmani opened on Olympic Boulevard in 2007 and spent nearly two decades building a reputation on two things: high grade intestines, and banchan that arrives before you have finished sitting down.

Joseph and Jennifer Choi took the restaurant over in 2013. The old room was small and always full. In December 2024 the whole operation moved a few blocks to a much larger space on Western Avenue, with a long dining hall, wooden dividers, and a private room at the back.

Eater LA called it one of LA's best Korean barbecue restaurants when the new room opened. Yangmani has also featured on Off the Menu with LA Times columnist Lucas Kwan Peterson.

The food still tastes great, and the staff grilled the meat perfectly, quick and delicious. Prices are reasonable as well.

Yangmani was always packed, and even after moving to Western it still has that real deal presence. Above all, the banchan are genuinely outstanding. Plenty of customers and plenty of staff, yet the service never falters, and the room is loud in a warm, familiar way.

Lunch special

I went for the lunch special and they still gave the full banchan spread, which was a real plus! Good price, generous side dishes, and the place is clean.
